Up to a third are strong advocates for their organisation

Around a third of our sample say they are strong advocates for the brands, services and products provided by their organisations and for their organisation as a good place to work. A lower proportion strongly agree that they talk positively about the work the organisation does in its communities or the way it acts towards investors, suppliers or the media.

Around 75% say they talk positively about the brands, services and products offered by their organisation. The proportion is around 80% in Leisure, Travel and Tourism and Professional services but much lower in Education. Two thirds of directors/senior managers strongly agree with the statement, more than twice the proportion of staff, though there is little difference across age brackets.

68% say they talk positively about the fact that their organisation is a good place to work. This proportion rises to nearly 80% in Professional Services and falls to around 68% in Retail. 53% of directors/senior managers strongly agree with the statement, around double the proportion of staff and again there is little difference across age brackets.

A higher proportion don't talk at all about the work the organisation does in its communities or the way it acts towards investors, suppliers or the media which explains why the proportion of strong advocates is lower. There are considerable differences across industry sectors in both cases and once again, directors/senior managers are much stronger advocates than staff.
